Pats interest and love of animals has been present since her childhood, having been raised with both horses and dogs, both show and working type's. Pat started breeding dogs ( Brittany Spaniels ) in 1965 and Ray grew up with Beagles that were raised and used for Rabbit hunting in Wisconsin. When we meet and married Ray got involved with the horses so we could enjoy them together. I ( Pat ) had a beautiful Irish Setter ( Lucky ) from outstanding hunting bloodlines and she was the perfect match for me ( Ray ) as she was the best Bird Dog I ever hunted behind. Pat often jokes that the only reason I married her was because of Lucky!
After my retirement from the Air Force in 1972 we found our way from the Wheatfield's of Eastern Washington to the Mountains of Eastern Oregon. We located and settled to our acre's in the Grande Ronde Valley, 2 miles west of Cove and 12 miles east of La Grande. Our home is only 8 miles from the awesome and beautiful Eaglecap Wilderness area that includes much of the Wallowa Mountain Range, also known as the Little Switzerland of America.
