Always having dogs as companions, when our 10 year old Irish Setter
<Lucky> crossed over the Rainbow bridge in 1980 we became interested
in the type of dog that would fit in with our lifestyle. The
Bernese Mountain Dog proved to be the breed that would fit in with our
horses and of the nature that would be the guardian type, with gentleness
and a working breed without aggressiveness to chase the young foals or
run the mares. Most important was that it would be a member of the
family to be loved and enjoyed as well as a working dog on our small acres.
Our goal has always been and always will be to strive for and aid in the
perfection of the Bernese Mountain Dog in accordance of the standard set forth
by the American Kennel Club & the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America.
We have been members of BMDCA since 1989 and are charter members of
Inland Northwest Bernese Mountain Dog club with Pat serving on the Board of Directors.
We are members of national Humane Society, the Oregon Humane Society and the
Union County Humane Society.
